Society Artist Gyula Batthyany 1887-1959 of Hungary

Gyula Batthyany was a pupil of Vaszary in Budapest, after which, he went on to study painting in Munich & Paris. After a number of exhibitions in the Ernst Museum in Budapest, he exhibited in Berlin in 1931. Toward the end of his life he painted a series of illustrations of the history of the world & Hungary. He was a founder of the Bicske Art School & a member of the Benczur Society.
