Women by South Carolinian Charles Fraser 1782-1860

Charles Fraser (American artist, 1782-1860) Girl with Kitten

When I was researching 18th-century early American gardens along the Atlantic coast, I visited The Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston to look at the notebooks & journals of Charles Fraser.  Fraser was known as a miniaturist, but I was eager to see his small drawings of Charleston & its surrounds which clearly showed gardens & grounds. These are just a few of his amazing miniatures of women.
