About Me

Barbara Wells Sarudy: Concentrating mostly on history, myths, traditions, art & women (of course), I try to trace mankind's evolving relationships with each other and with plants, gardens, & landscapes in several blogs, different in the particulars but similar in the essentials.

I search for what those living before us declare in their own words & in their art about themselves & about the world around them.

As a historian who relies on words & images, I must turn to archaeologists, using a variety of scientific tools & experts, to discover & help explain earlier evidence beyond that obvious on the surface. Science is not truth. It is a process in the pursuit of truth.

I guess the truth here is that plants do not need people, but people need plants & each other.

And, I think it's only fair to warn you, that sometimes when the subject of a post is plants or gardens, I might just include a bit of information about a woman, & vice versa. Just a bit compulsive, perhaps.
